Working as a power systems engineer to provide thermal and renewable plant testing services supports GE’s customers, who often play an important role in society by helping provide reliable power.
Neethu Abraham joined GE Energy Consulting in 2016 as a Senior Engineer. In her current role, she performs plant testing and model validation. With analytic tools, such as PSLF and PSSE, Neethu supports analytics of interconnecting new and existing renewable power plant installations.
Prior to assuming this role, Neethu was employed by PacifiCorp and Power Engineers as a transmission planning engineer, where she honed her project manager expertise working on several transmission planning projects in Utah, Wyoming, Texas and Kansas. While at Power Engineers, she was a Lead Consulting Engineer responsible for overall project coordination, client relations and overseeing project schedules and budget. Her job duties included studying the impact of demand on the system, including providing analysis of stability with increased load and retired generation; from these studies, she provided recommendation on transmission improvements to meet reliability criteria.
Other experience includes short term and long term planning studies to evaluate transmission adequacy for forecasted load. Neethu has also been extensively involved in NERC TPL compliance studies for clients in Utah, Texas and Kansas and has also provided FERC/NERC/WECC audit support.
