Course format/information
Our flexible PSEC format accommodates participants interested in pursuing courses that require:
- A 2-4 day commitment for exclusive knowledge of a subject.
- Quarterly modules that focus on 4 week specialized areas.
- An entire 4 month program. (International students, who will temporarily live in the local area, take this.)
This format allows more flexibility for participants who wish to attend selected courses or disciplines. At the same time, participants enrolled for the entire program will have more time to focus on each individual course. We recommend that full time participants who are non-native English speakers arrive early to get situated in their living arrangements.
A typical class day consists of a combination of lecture, problem-solving exercises, group discussions, or site visits/tours. Our courses are held annually at GE's world-class Energy Learning Center in Schenectady, NY, USA. All lecture and course material are in English with classes begin at 8 a.m. EST and on average concluding at 4 p.m. EST
